Description: Hot Topics in Pediatric Bioethics will explore a a wide range of controversial issues facing Pediatricians and Pediatric Subspecialists caring for neonates, children, and adolescents. Each issue will be presented by an expert, leaving time for robust discussion. The areas covered include 1) Neonatal ethics at the margin of gestational viability 2) Pharmaceutical ethics including drug shortages and high-cost medications 3) Reproductive Justice and Gender Identity including the impact of recent Supreme Court decisions and legislation 4) Controversies in End-of-Life care including futility, terminal ECMO decannulation and Donation after Cardiac Death 5) Risks and Benefits of Genetic Testing in Pediatrics 6) Emerging technologies and Experimental therapies including Artificial Intelligence
