Workshop
Description: SALSA (Surfactant Administration through Laryngeal (LMA) or Supraglottic Airways) is a fast, effective and easy to learn method of surfactant administration that allows for infants on non-invasive ventilation to benefit from surfactant. This workshop will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of SALSA compared to other surfactant administration modalities. Implementation of the technique using quality improvement (QI) methodology in a variety of clinical settings will be discussed and tools for QI implementation, including educational materials, checklists and data analytics, will be provided. In addition, hands-on training in the SALSA technique will be provided. The workshop will be led by experts in SALSA administration and providers who have experience in the successful implementation of the SALSA technique in a variety of settings.
