Workshop

Description: The goal of this session will be to understand the risks of vaccine preventable conditions for children with kidney diseases, including glomerular disorders, chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis, and transplant, as well as to review the current updated vaccine recommendations for these high-risk populations. The second part of the session will highlight noteworthy articles published by junior investigators in the last year.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to understand the risks to immunosuppressed children with kidney disease from vaccine preventable diseases and be aware of current recommended vaccine schedules and special considerations in CKD, dialysis, and kidney transplant.
Upon completion, participants will be able to: understand the risks to immunosuppressed children with glomerular disease from vaccine preventable diseases and be aware of current recommended vaccine schedules and special considerations in this population, including timing of vaccines and monitoring of vaccine titers in the context of monoclonal antibody therapies.
