Workshop
Description: Promoting pro-child health legislation can be difficult in the setting of controversial state legislation. Advocacy collaboratives that involve multiple institutions provide a way to pool resources together to successfully address these issues, especially within the time constraints of a busy clinician. Facilitators for the Florida and Texas collaborative will describe the creation of the collaboratives, their purpose and their role in shaping and addressing policy when confronted with controversial legislation. This interactive workshop will guide participants to conduct stakeholder analysis at their home institutions, discuss ways to build collaboration in their own state, and develop skills around speaking to a legislator.
