Description: The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society's Guideline on Diagnosis and Management of Acute Bacterial Infections in Pediatrics was published in the fall of 2023. This session will provide

Learning Objectives:

initiate appropriate diagnostic testing for a child with suspected acute bacterial arthritis, including non-invasive and invasive studies.
choose an effective initial (empiric) antimicrobial regimen for a child with suspected acute bacterial arthritis.
discuss management options, including duration of therapy, transition to oral therapy, and follow-up, of children with confirmed or presumed acute bacterial arthritis.
