Session
Description: Under-vaccination of children remains a major public health concern as it leaves individuals, households, and communities vulnerable to vaccine-preventable disease. One strategy for improving overall vaccination coverage, especially for children with reduced access to care, is to extend vaccine delivery to non-primary care settings such as hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care clinics, pharmacies, and schools and capitalize on every opportunity for vaccination in those locations. In this session, experts will present the latest evidence regarding vaccination of children in alternative settings, including strengths, challenges, and special considerations. This will be followed by a robust audience discussion, where participants will be encouraged to share their perspectives and discuss future research directions.
