Workshop
Description: This workshop, Building a Career in Quality Improvement, is applicable to any pediatrician or sub-specialist with a goal to build an academic career in quality improvement. Faculty members presenting this workshop have diverse backgrounds and experiences in quality improvement with representation from early, mid, and late career timeframes from multiple institutions. Our faculty will present key action items and tools to strategically begin with the end in mind by discussing QI career pathways as they lead to academic promotion and other measures of success. Didactic sessions are interspersed with tabletop strategic planning sessions through which participants will have the opportunity to reflect and plan, as well as receive input and feedback. Faculty members will share their career building experience at a panel discussion at the end of the workshop. Participants will leave with an “exit ticket” of action items for next steps in their career building journey.
