Workshop
Description: In the last four years, we have witnessed numerous calls to incorporate anti-racism and equity into the medical profession, including in education and training, leadership, and the clinical environment. While ample discussions, workshops, and commentaries about how to increase diversity and inclusion in medicine have been initiated, fewer avenues provide actionable guidance on how to implement anti-racism and equity initiatives into professional practice.
This interactive workshop will encourage participants to explore implementing anti-racism and equity initiatives while utilizing gamification to create an environment of engagement, growth, and interaction. Through an escape room activity, participants will work through multiple cases (patient and family belonging, workforce equity, research, and trainee retention and remediation) utilizing the APA’s Anti-racism & Equity Toolkit and other resources to develop and implement institutional initiatives in equity and anti-racism.
