Workshop
Description: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is arguably the biggest technological breakthrough since the internet. Generative AI enables machines to autonomously create content that closely resembles human-generated text. Discover the possibilities of integrating generative AI language models into your daily practice as a medical educator! This interactive workshop aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to utilize generative AI to enhance medical education administrative tasks, build curricula, and collaboratively teach concepts to learners.
The workshop will introduce and guide participants to using ChatGPT, a free online generative AI chatbot, and discuss its benefits, pitfalls, and best practices. Small group activities will challenge participants to utilize ChatGPT in various scenarios: drafting written formative feedback, collaboratively building a medical education curriculum, and explaining difficult concepts. Participants will explore existing use-cases of ChatGPT in medical education for both educators and learners, gaining valuable perspectives on opportunities and potential challenges. Participants should ideally bring a laptop or tablet to the workshop to be able to interact more easily with ChatGPT during the session. Participants will leave with a practical toolkit for getting started with ChatGPT. Learn how to harness the power of generative AI and explore its vast applications in pediatric medical education.
