Session
Description: In this session we will reflect on best practices in creating a workplace that supports hospitalists in building academic careers that includes scholarship, advanced clinical skills, career advancement, and well-being. As PHM sections and divisions continue to experience growth, this issue is of great interest. We invite a diverse panel of pediatric hospitalist experts to share their research, leadership techniques, and local improvement efforts related to creating work environments that go beyond diversity to build and optimize inclusion and sustainable careers. We will also ask them to share their efforts and best practices with attendees to demonstrate how we as a community can build durable employment systems to support continued growth. We will end the session with a brief summary of collaborative networks within hospital medicine around research, quality, education, and equity, including updates and opportunities for attendees to get involved.
